Hi, my names Paul Kavanagh, I’m 26 and manage the Y Studios music recording studio/ performance centre at Northfield.

I have gained a hectic 10 years of experience within various aspects of the music industry included live sound with My Chemical Romance, Counting Crows and Larry Carlton and TV sound for shows such as Soccer Six and also taking on various recording, management and promotional projects for musicians and bands around the midlands area.

I have recently had my first child and decided that work in live sound meant too much travelling and time lost at home.

So I’ve established a music role in teaching A-level music technology at Kings Norton Boys’ school as well as the exciting new managerial role at the Y Studios meaning I can pass on my learning’s and experience.
